Raw Chocolate Brownie Pie with Tart Cherry and Walnut Syrup


Nutritional Counselor Diane Hoch shares this protein filled treat for you to try at home! It’s rich and decadent while being high in monosaturated fatty acids which help lower that bad cholesterol and increase the good cholesterol.

1 cup pecans, chopped
3/4 cup almonds, chopped
1 1/2 cup dates, pitted and chopped
3/4 cup unsweetened coconut
4 tablespoons cacao powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon vanilla bean seeds
1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Tart Cherry and Walnut Syrup
1/4 cup tart cherry juice concentrate
3 tablespoons coconut milk
1 tablespoon maple syrup
3 tablespoons walnut, chopped

Place pecans, almonds, coconut, cacao powder and sea salt in food processor and pulse to chop and combine. Add dates, vanilla extract and vanilla bean seeds to the mixture and process again until it sticks together and the dates are well processed.

Press the mixture into pie dish and press down firmly with hands. Refrigerate to set. Drizzle the tart cherry and walnut syrup over the brownie and enjoy.
