This past weekend, The Lodge undertook a Great Backyard Bird Watch by keeping close count of the species, number and frequency of the birds in our “backyard.”
Guests and staff who participated watched for at least 15 minutes and wrote down: a best estimate of how many birds they saw; what species; the date and time; and if they were traveling or stationary when observed. A Backyard Bird Watch is a great way to be a citizen scientist and contribute to the study of bird trends over time. Here are some of the results and photos from our weekend watch!
|American Tree Sparrow||1|
|Black Capped Chickadee||47|
