Love doesn’t recognize borders, cultures, or time. Love simply is.

Rumi is a 13th century Persian Poet whose work transcends time, borders, cultures and generations.  His words are timeless.  Our Rumi Meditation Class explores some of our favorite poems to help inspire and ignite the mind and spirit.  As we enter into June, National Pride Month, we celebrate and commemorate that Love is Love.  Love doesn’t recognize borders, cultures, or time.  Love simply is.  The only goal is to experience it.

Love has nothing to do with

the five senses and the six directions:

its goal is only to experience

the attraction exerted by the Beloved.

Afterwards, perhaps, permission

will come from God:

the secrets that ought to be told will be told

with an eloquence nearer to the understanding

that these subtle confusing allusions.

The secret is partner with none

but the knower of the secret:

in the skeptic’s ear

the secret is no secret at all.

One of our favorite parts about this time of year is that it is a good time to practice choosing love.  When in doubt, love.  One way to do that is to seek out ways to stand up for love and openly share it.  We certainly love:

  • The Jessie Lewis Choose Love Movement who believes that “Choosing love means having the courage to be grateful when life isn’t easy, to forgive when the person who hurt you isn’t sorry, and to step outside your own pain to help someone else. That’s the way to choose love, and the empowering lesson is that it’s a choice.” http://www.jesselewischooselove.org/
  • The 100% Human collection by Everlane: https://www.everlane.com/collections/100-percent-human
  • The Trevor Project is a leading organization in crisis intervention and the prevention of teen suicides among the LGBTQ population. http://www.thetrevorproject.org/
