Make any day feel like a vacation day! Try this DIY face scrub/mask from Treatments Manager Amanda Clabaugh at home. It includes good-for-you ingredients like banana, honey, and oats — all stuff that’s likely already sitting in your kitchen cabinets.
Calming Banana Scrub/Mask
1 banana, peeled and mashed
1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers, ground in food processor
1 tablespoon powdered milk
1 tablespoon oil of choice
1 tablespoon oats
1 tablespoon honey
Blend all ingredients and gently apply to cleansed skin. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water.
Honey is high in vitamins & amino acids, antioxidant, antibacterial, contains enzymes that dissolve tired skin cells, and binds moisture to the skin. Bananas are great for anti-aging and high in vitamins A, B. & E, and lavender is calming & stimulates circulation. Oats are a natural, gentle exfoliator, but they’re also well known for their soothing powers.
